FA charge for John Terry

John Terry has been charged by the Football Association for alleged racial abuse of QPR’s Anton Ferdinand. The Chelsea skipper was acquitted of a racially aggravated public order offence by the Westminster Magistrates Court earlier this month but the FA have decided tolay a charge on the defender. Terry is free to play for England while the inquiry into the incident, which occurred on October 23 last year, continues and has until next week to respond.

Chelsea 's summer spending won't end with their deal for Internacional star Oscar. The Daily Star says Blues owner Roman Abramovich is determinedto breathe new life into the Blues squad and build an exciting side capable of regaining the Premier League title. The European champions still want Napoli’s £35m striker Edinson Cavani and £10m-rated Wigan winger Victor Moses. A new right-back is also believed to be on Di Matteo’s summer shortlist.

Chelsea have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Oscar on a five-year contract for a fee understood to be in the region of £25m.

The Brazilian, who is in his country's Olympic squad, joins from Internacional having previously played for Sao Paulo. The 20-year-old has been compared to countryman Kaka in Brazil. Champions League winners Chelsea have already signed MarkoMarin and brothers Eden and Thorgan Hazard this summer. Oscar had previously insisted he would wait until after the Olympics before completing his move to Roberto Di Matteo's side.
